Title: Fatboy passes
Post by: 69blueboss on April 09, 2016, 06:16:54 pm
Just found out this morning that Doug Monroe, aka Fatboy, passed away last night. I know he was on the board a while back but haven't seen him in a long time. He had the Boss Exchange back in the 80's I think it was. Just thought I would pass the info along.

He would come and visit here with me a lot in the eighties and early nineties. I heard back around the turn of the century, he went off the grid. Always a good guy when I was around him. And very helpful. Sorry to hear the sad news.

I had the pleasure of talking with Doug a few years ago when he appraised both my BOSS and Cougar. He was very passionate about these cars and seemed like a fellow who was full of life.

Very sad news indeed, Doug was a great guy and a Boss expert!  He helped me many times and found some rare stuff when I needed to finish my restoration.  I will always be very grateful for his long friendship and support!  He WILL be missed and we just lost a TON of Boss knowledge too!  RIP Doug, gone too soon!!

Wow, what a bummer. Bought & sold a lot of stuff with him at the Columbus swap meets in the early 90s when I was doing my BOSS 302, always a straight shooter & a good guy. Still have one of his Boss Exchange decals somewhere.

R.I.P. Doug
