Title: WTB 2013 SBY Boss 302
Post by: BOSTANG on June 08, 2018, 06:38:02 am
Just sold my 1970 Boss 302 and am looking to purchase a 2013 SBY Boss to replace it .Want under 10000 mile car, possibly a Laguna Seca model.
Is there a way to tell if it is a LS by the vin?
Do all LS models come the splitter on the front?
I've seen pictures of some online that claim to be Lagunas, but pictures don't show the LS splitter on the front of the car!
Thanks in advance for any help!

I have a 2013 LS and have not put on the splitter. I'm afraid of hitting low "things" in the roads these days.

Some of the visual cues are the fuel cap, wheels and stripes. The fuel cap will have the LS designation on it. LS wheels are not painted black and have a diff. spoke configuration. LS's have wider tires, but I don't remember the sizes, but they are R compound. The side stripes on a LS start at the top of the fenders. Standard BOSS 302's go from the center of the hood down over the fenders.

Off the top of my head, that's all I can think of. If you get the VIN, you can print out a window sticker for that particular car. The LS package is 501A. Sticker was over $50 and today, I would not sell my car for that. I know you can find some out there, try to look for an older owner who did no track events.  ;) One just sold for about $44K on ebay. Nice car.

In your search, look for a car that has the Track software activated as it is no longer available from FORD.

The LS is the one to look for as they are starting to hold their value.

Let us know what you find.

Finally received my SBY 2013 Boss 302LS a while back. When purchased , had under 2500 miles! Now just over 2800 miles on the clock! This car will now be DRIVEN! Certainly not as an everyday driver, but 1000 to 2000 miles a year. Can't wait for the warmer weather! Here in PA. it is definitely Winter, and the tires don't like the weather conditions at that temperature!
