Thanks Don, I contacted Newtex but they won't deal with me because i am not a company. I contacted Mineral seal but they don't have anything similar.
Is anyone else in need of this flooring material and has their own company ?

BOSS 429 General Discussion / Re: Boss 9 Air Cleaner origins

The best way to tell would be a look at the original Ford blueprint. There are still people with connections at Ford that can do that. It would have been done as an XE part and i don't have very much of that info. You might try Bob Perkins for info. Besides being an expert on the cars , he also has been entrusted with the Fran Hernandez paperwork collection and the information might be in one of the thousands of documents he has.

Being as Ford used a lot of parts mingling, what was the origin of the B9’s air cleaner base? Was it thunderbird or was it truck etc.?

Welcome to the site!

The green/red wire might go to the parking brake switch, if your car has a parking brake warning light? If so, touch that wire to ground and see if a light comes on.

+1 on the 93 octane. Only thing I use for either key.

Hopey, that must have been a blast....a real workout, but a blast non the less!
(beautiful scenery too if you had the time to look at it, lol)

Marty,

It’s fantastic. There is a group of us that heads up there mid-June each year. It’s nice to escape the start of the Florida summer at least for a few days.

Last time I stopped overnight in Atlanta, stayed next to the airport and did the Porsche drivers experience in the morning (911 Carrera 4 on a track, heavy fat boring car) before heading into the Mountains. Lots of great roads around Fontana (where we usually stay, would be a great place for a BOSS meetup), Deals Gap, Dragon and my personal favorite the Cherohala Skyway that runs from Robbinsville NC to Tellico Plains TN.  Plus you have all the photographers on the Dragon, so you can go online next day and see some great photos of you driving the Dragon.

“ a freaking parts manual and elect schematic would solve a lot lol “

Good place to start is buy sets of:

1. Ford 5 volume shop manual set.
2. Ford vehicle assembly manual set.

That’s where the vacuum schematics on DNO are from.

Carb. Doesn’t look like a full 69 carb, the front fuel bowl is missing the vent. What’s the numbers on the center body, metering plates etc? Could be like the one that was on my current BOSS when I bought it. A cobbled together mix of 69 & 70 parts.

As far as the air pump / backfire valve, depends on what you want to do with the car. I drove my Bosses for many years without them, but they were just my fun car. Recently I completed a restoration at DSD, and at that time we went ahead and purchased a complete system (plus heat riser/ exhaust heat shields ) from Doug Herr at Factory Muscle Parts. As Doug lives nearby I just drove over to his place and picked them up plus it gave me a chance to look at his awesome stash of NOS and rare parts.
