With all the interest in value after a color change, this will be a good one to watch and document!  I'm also (obviously) interested for other unmentionable (DRAG PACK!!!!!!) reasons. SMSmile

It doesn't really appear to be unmentionable to you. Only to others that wish to keep the peace. It must be your Type A personality that causes you to lose control?

to those looking for 'factual' information in here.

There was never a 'drag pack' option offered for the BOSS 302 MUSTANG by FORD MOTOR COMPANY.

It was only offered to those who only 'wish'.

I truly do know who you are, smartbossG.  At least BOSSJIM & I are man enough to state our positions openly.

BOSSJIM, read my link again.  You can't change the world.  BTW, who's the wisher?  Not me, mine's real.

Not trying to change the world, just want to make sure future owners are aware of the facts.

Your's is a nice car, truly is. Its a real BOSS 302 with an oil cooler like mine.

Sorry guys, I really am.  The option is there.  I didn't install it myself (like BJ), it was installed on the assembly line... just like the Cougar Eliminator.  The ONLY difference is, BOSS 302 Mustangs got theirs for free.

Stonewall,

If that were the case that Boss 302 Mustangs got there's for free then it is not a listed option and they should all have the Oil Cooler.  We have been down this road too many times before and it is a dead end at a cliff and you keep insisting on throwing the bait and refusing to deal in unrefutable facts.

IT IS NOT DOCUMENTED ANYWHERE AS BEING AVAILABLE AS AN OPTION ON A BOSS 302 MUSTANG!

Dave, with all due respect, I don't want to take this to a heated point with you.  I really don't.  Can we Q&A peacefully?

I think I know you well enough to proceed as if your answer is yes.

Are you disputing the fact that my oil cooler was installed on the assembly line just like yours?

(BTW, I totally agree with your last bold type sentence.  To me, that makes it all the more rare and valuable.  To me.)

Don,

I have no way to prove or disprove that your oil cooler was installed on the factory line.  I therefore will not fight that windmill.

I can prove by the #2 / Emminger Invoice that mine was installed on the line in conjunction with the "Super Drag_Pak"  option.

My disgust is with the continued use by some members of this community to encourage the use of the term "Drag Pack" in reference to a Boss 302 Mustang and therefore for posterity should be discouraged whenever encountered.

I repeat;

IT IS NOT DOCUMENTED ANYWHERE AS BEING AVAILABLE AS AN OPTION ON A BOSS 302 MUSTANG!

I just joined your select group with the oil coolers and am alittle confused by them. I just had my '70 delivered and after driving it home, found that the oil cooler was hot. I looked at my options selected on the deluxe Marty report and the oil cooler is listed as an option. 1)I found out that they are actually oil coolers! 2) Marty report says option so .....? I've read the other posts over the last few years and understand that there is a, shall we say, difference of opinion regarding the oil coolers as an option. WHY does my Marty report say what it does? I don't want arguments between anybody, just correct answers. I don't intend to start WWV since III and IV were about them. Stonewall do you need the info for 146779?

the oil cooler as stated on your marti report actually is not proof as an option.

We are still looking for an INVOICE from FORD that states it as an option. Ordered and paid for.

i.e...DRAG PACK....for a BOSS 302 mustang.

MY DRAG PACK!...LOL!!
