http://members.aol.com/Shissler95/plates1nomore1.jpgThis is an aluminum carb spacer plate to replace your existing Boss 302 Ford plastic carb plate. I get the plate already made for a Holley, it is ?? thick then I modify it to match the original Ford plate but WITHOUT the nipple for the PCV valve hose. If you have an old plate that is cracked and still have it, you can use that nipple for this plate. The plate is pre-machined to except the nipple. Thickness of the original from Ford is 5/16? but I can make the thickness to any size between 5/16? thick to ?? thick. I have made (3) of these plates already to the thickness of .380 (3/8) and the owners have had no problems, NOTE: (they were installed on Shaker Hood cars). To look more original, you can paint the outside edges black and who is going to know, as it is hard to see the plate after the air cleaner is on! If you are interested, and tired of the Ford plastic plate cracking on you and having leaks, the price is $38.00 shipped. You get the aluminum spacer plate (made to your specified thickness) and 2-base gaskets. Note: I could make a plate thicker than a 1/2" if you need one, let me know what thickness you want an I'll see what I can do for you! Email me at bigdcobra@verizon.net If someone has a source for making the nipple out the front, please let me know!

I have one on my car for about a year now, and this is the way Ford should of made them. It seems like you have to get a new plastic one every time you take off the carb. With the one that Bigdee makes,I have had the carb off about a dozen times or so and this thing is as strong as day one. I did?nt paint mine black as you would have to stand on your head to see it. Also, I have a shaker car and everything fits fine. The way I see it, why spend the same amount for a repop piece of junk, when you can have something that will last a lifetime for the same money.

We also put one of these on the problem red car we were working on. Works great with no worry of potentially breaking or cracking the repo units. The original Ford units aren't too bad, but still take a chance of a vacuum leak.

Darrell, got the aluminum carb spacer today and looks great, got tired of cracking the repo spacer when taking the carb off. This is a excellent replacement if you guys are having the same problem. Thanks, Derrick

Can you repost your picture, it is bad. I'd like to buy a couple spacers too. You said you made them from Holley spacers, what Holley part number do you use, part # 17-60? Thanks,
Duane
