Thanks! I got the deluxe Marti Report. Never shelled out the $$$ for the Elite Report. Like the Calypso B1s, Marti didn't know what color my car was. They asked me. Marti said it was one of eight 1971 Sportsroofs with a Mach 1 interior and special paint.
I ended up learning the original color two years later based learning the special paint code was listed in the remarks section of the buildsheet. Plus I traced down the owner of the car from 1978 - 1980 and he confirmed it was Grabber Orange when he got it.
Unfortunately, when my car was restored back in the late 80s, the restorer didn't know what color to paint it since the paint code on the door was blank and things such as Boss 351 Forums didn't exist. He narrowed it down to either Grabber Orange or Medium Yellow Gold......and went with Medium Yellow Gold since that was an official 71 color and since Grabber Orange was not. He said he didn't feel comfortable painting it a color that wasn't available in 1971. So close but yet so far. The car had been painted yellow gold prior to his purchase in 1980. He basically chose the wrong side of the coin. The paint is so nice now I would have to have something catastrophic happen to repaint in Grabber Orange. Maybe one day.
You can see my car on the Boss 351 registry listed as the highest optioned Boss 351. It was first purchased by the Ford Marketing Corp as a "marketing vehicle" per my Deluxe Marti Report. I don't have any owner history from new until 1978 sadly so I don't know who ordered the car originally although A. Swan is listed on the Eminger Report next to the special order number. I'd give my left kidney to know who originally ordered it.
