West Coast shuttle boogy
« on: July 14, 2009, 02:47:18 pm »
Well yes it is kind of a dance, but in reality here is the question. I have contacted Intercity Lines and inquired about transport from a one location in the Los Angeles area, deliver to the show, and then turn around at the end of the show, Return to one location in the Los Angeles area. Fully enclosed, Fully insured. In 2009 dollars the quote would be 7500.00 for six car increments each way. So that means the cost to go round trip would be 2500.00 per car as long as we had six cars or multiple of 6. They would offer to meet at one location on for example the Saturday before the show, and arrive Friday the day before the show. Then have a truck available Sunday evening after the show to load for the return trip to one location. The special price is for a one location full truck pick-up, to a one location drop off. The same service would be available from any major hub where people could meet for example Phoenix, Seattle, etc. But pricing would differ depending on location, each "Hub" would require their own quote, I talked with Jeff at Intercity Lines. The cars would in reality be out of town for a little more than fourteen days.

Is there any interest from any of the L.A. Area Boss guys? We don't have to book today but it was just something to toss around.
John

Two questions, first one about price, 7500 divided by 6 is 1250 per car, not 2500, no?

Secondly, and this is a more open question, is there any interest in a NorCal similar deal?  Don, Dana C, Mike??

Dana,
The 1250.00 per car is one trip west to east, then the second 1250.00 would be east to west, so round trip was 2500.00. But the deal makes sense if flight arrangements can be made to arrive prior to the cars arrival, and after the cars are loaded for the return trip.

Hi John:

Thanks for initiating this - although I'm in Central (Monterey) CA, I'm in one way or another.  Again, count me in.  As we get closer to this event, and need to make financial commitments keep me aprised of what's necessary.

Thanks for kicking this off.

It would be really cool if we could get a group from the L.A area, maybe the Bay area, and the the Seattle area for a strong West Coast presence at this reunion. and Boss 351 cars this is your 40th anniversary.

Is there any interest in putting together a West Coast invasion force?
Either via a multi-day convoy, or pitching in on a transport truck, or....?

At this point, just seeing if there is renewed interest...

You bet!  ;D

My time frame to pick her up is just after the winter breaks, I am thinking sometime in March...
I will be back there for a few days driving the Boss around, and getting her on a truck before flying back home.
My brother may be coming too.  He wants to put the Boss in an enclosed trailor and haul her ourselves, we'll see...
Would be cool to get together at Erich's maybe while I'm back there...
Know anyone local with a white 69 Boss?

Let me know when you're in the area. You and your brother are welcome to stay at my place for a day or two if you need/want. I do know somebody in the Philly area with a white '69 302, why?

We may just take you up on the offer, especially if the garage keg is full!  :D
See ya soon, Randy!
