Hole where primary wire enters is in wrong location and the area around the stamped numbers has been altered,as the vacuum advance numbers have been ground down/restamped w/ X12. Ebay should pull that auction. There used to be a report this item link at the bottom of the auction page, but I see they have removed it.
 I saw this the other day and thought it looked suspicious. You can clearly see the X12 area on the vacuum advance has been whizzed and re stamped.

Ebay has been notified about this seller many times. They claim legal action is coming. Meanwhile he is also selling a fake '70 428 CJ 4 speed distributor with same faults. A while back he had a fake fuel pump listed with the numbers stamped over. The only recourse Ebay offers at this time is if BUYER complains they will get the money back! So, if I rob a bank and get caught all I have to is give the money back? I thought crime was handled differently.....

Just to show you how crooked this guy is I am adding his latest fraud. I gave up reporting this guy to Ebay,they just don't  care about crime on their site.Can you spot the BIG, OBVIOUS fault with THIS listing? And the worst part is he states it's NOT a re-stamp!!!!! This should put him in jail for sure! what gets me is theres a couple of sellers on ebay that always seem to find all these rare parts. ( ok faked ,fauxed, cloned, copied ,phony rare parts , what ever we should call them) but theres still people ( to be nice and not call them dumb or ingormant) that still buy from these people , this just amazes me. 
one thing that pops out to me on theblue distributoer is it  says FoMoCo i am not sure when ford switched over to using autolite on their distributer but i am thinking atleast a couple years before the boss 302 came out.
some one correct me if i am wrong here?
wouldnt all boss 302 distributors be autolites?

 I think we should also include repop VIN tags, shakers, fenders, hoods, floors, quarters, doors, carpet, seat covers, door glass, tires, wheels etc. At least a distributor is only a five minute change. Don't mistake my reply, I dislike anything reproduction!

The issue is not reproduction parts, the issue is fraudulently listing parts as originals when they are not. There is no issue or concern with reproduction parts sold as such. Hawkrod

 I understand Hawk, but why limit the Boss police to distributors? Carbs, shaker bases, heat shields and snorkels, exhaust manifolds, Smog, Autolite shocks fall into same catagory and most are more valuable than a distributor. A distributor is a simple bolt on part that is easily changed. Seems like someone has an agenda on distributors? I can think of more important things to ID in the Boss 302 registry than how to spot a fake distributor? For example: how to ID Ford's four versions of Boss 302 valve covers and three versions of BOSS 302 stickers used on the valve covers? I get bored seeing distributor warnings on every concours forum.
