the vin on a cleveland block is on the left rear of the block between where the bellhousing bolts on abd the deck , where the head bolts on
please dont forget the casting number and the date code on the passenger side where the starter sits
i have only see 2 casting number that were fatory 4 bolt mains
they are D0AE L
and   D2AE CA
the serial number on the block will start with a number ,that being the year of the car it was put in
0 1970 , 1 1971, 2 1972, 3 1973,4 1974
the next will be a letter
f being dearborn ,  there are other letter for different assemble plants
then 6 digits all being numbers this is the concitive unit or serial number
if it starts 1-4 it came out a ford
5-7 out of mercury
lets us know what you find out

if this is a fatory 4 bolt main block. ( not a block someone converted to 4 bolt mains)
the it a 351 cobra jet out of a mustang
3 is 1973
F dearborn assemble plant
consecitive number of the car is 200525
since the number starts with  2 its out of a ford
and i believe they only made mustang and cougars at the dearborn assemble plant in 1973
it could have been a hardtop,grande,a convertable, a fastback or a mach1
thats the best i can do
if you need more information than that you would have to have marti auto works do a search for you
if this is a factory 4 bolt main  block  , the engine code should be a Q , ( i have heard of 4 bolt main 2v engines, from the factory, but i have personaly never seen one, and probably 99.9 percent of the factory 4 bolt main blocks were 351 4v engines)
my best quess for the engine ( assuming its a factor 4 bolt main block)
is that it came out of a mach 1 mustang
ford made 12558 q code mustangs in 1973
10526 of them were put into fastback, and mach 1 ,of this total 9884 where mach 1
1064 put into hardtops ,grands
968 put into convertables
so the chances are good but not 100 percent
but i would go     3F05Q200525 as the serial number of the mustang it came out of

Thanks for the information.  It is a factory 4 bolt motor with 4 bbl heads I disassembled it personaly, it is all standard size (bore, rods and mains).  I don't have a 71 thru 73 mustang and I didn't want to use a motor that someone was looking for.
I will go in my 1932 sedan
