Originally was a Comp Gold, but it is painted Dodge Viper Dark Green.
Missing Rev Limiter.

Replaced parts, Front Seats, Steering Wheel, Carb, Fan, Radiator, and wheels are what I can remember off the top of my head.

Headliner in great shape, body in very good shape, No rust issues, new carpet, dash is perfect, wire harness in great shape, the Boss and trans were rebuilt not long before I got her, and have less than 3000 miles on them. I spent 5 years going through the car, before I PCSed to Europe.

It has been a while since I was into the Eliminator scene, since I have been overseas for the last 10 years. My taste in cars have changed to more of a turboed nature, so I need to sell my Cougar, so I can finish my Skyline GTR project cars that I sipped over with me. Not sure what to ask for it, but I will start of at $19,900.

While I was gone, the car was being stored at a friends house, and he would crank over the engine by hand every month or so. I just do not have the time to start back into the Muscle Car scene, and have dumped a lot of knowledge over the years that I would have to relearn to get the car back into perfect running shape.

Talked with this guy on the phone and seems to be a good guy. I thought Boss eliminators were blacked out on the dash without woodgrain? Or was this an option? Also, what do you guys think is a fair price for a car in this condition with original drive train? Always wanted an Eliminator.

Yes, the dash should be all black without toggle switches. The console in the car looks to be a Mustang console as it appears to have a flat lid.

If the eliminator came with a console, the flat lid is correct. The XR-7 had the hump lid.

The woodgrain is different on the dash from the glovebox as well.

When I spoke with him on the phone, he stated that he took the best parts from 3 cars to make one good one. Maybe he took the wood grain panel trim from those cars and stuck it on this dash. How much do you think it would take to get this car back to stock condition? What's an average price for this car in its current condition?

Well, there are things that need to be found (carb, rev limiter, cc dash, etc), but for having the original drivetrain, his price is within the ballpark.

don't hold your breath ,I think the guy is full of it and I don't think he has a car offered what he wanted for it .told him id be in his town last week told me he doesn't have time never sent any pictures blowing smoke just my opinion .........and i know of a few others who have spoken to him and no luck

Like I said, I am in no rush.

I finally got the car up and running. Tach, Speedo, oil pressure are working.

Master cylinder has a leak right where the reservoir bolts up.

I am still dealing with more issues than just this. This is not a high priority to me, sorry.

And if you look in the auction text the term 're-body' was used for the first time in all of the discussions on this car.

This may be what the 'caveat emptor' posting was referring to......

Well, I guess the price is not in the ballpark after all, since it is not numbers matching. Also, 1970 Boss 302 and 428 Eliminators had a Cougar specific trunk brace for the staggered shocks that is absent in the rebody. It is very difficult to find and virtually impossible to replicate.

Now that car has a scar that will never heal. Sad.
