I still have quite a few Mustangs left (including my original CC 70 vert, now red), but I would be a fool to try and sell any of them now as EVERYTHING is at bargain basement pricing.  Unless you find someone REALLY hurting for cash, it will be difficult to find a 70 Mach that someone will let go at a reasonable price, regardless of condition.  Have you got a certain price ceiling in your mind?

Yeah..kinda going to be hard to find one for $300--$400.00. That car forsale on Craigslist is at a reasonable "starting floor" price for a project. I paid $2800 for my rolling damaged/crummy repair shell in 2001. Good luck.

I'll find one eventually: I am not really looking for a "project" as much as I am a shell.
Don't get me wrong, I want a good one, but that's not realistic for my limited resources, so I'll take a rust heap piece of junk.

Hopefully the link works. It is a 70 mach 1 that has run on ebay multiple times, no sale for $1,000. Have actually seen several in the $700 range but they were not Calypso Coral.

I am truly not expecting to get one that has been sitting in a garage or one with a bunch of parts. I am expecting to find one that a guy's wife of neighbor wants out of the yard becuase it is an eyesore and has no real value, but owner who parted it out doesn't have the heart to scrap.

Oh, and in case you are wondering, it has to be Calypso Coral because that is what my dad bought new in 1970. My mom drove us around in it during the week, my dad raced it at local race drag strip during weekends. He did great winning a bunch of trophies. My mom hated it when my dad did not "de-tune" it from the race weekends and it would stall on her. Ihave some great pics of them with car during that time.

I was crushed when he sold it in the mid 1970's. He used to take me to the gas station where the guy who bought it worked after my dad sold it.

Through the years I did buy a few rust heaps that I had dreams of restoring, but circumstances always forced a sale. Now I have givien up on dream of restoring one, but I would like to have the shell.

My dad died in 2008 and it has been very difficult having lost him. So when I get one, I am going to drive it through the cemetery on the trailer to "show" him. He'd think that was neat. I'll probably drive it through cemetery where my mom is too. She did not much care about the car, but she always felt bad for me because he sold it because she wanted a car with a/c.

...comporange I can relate, the CC Mach 1 in my (sig) picture my dad bought new, (I have so many great memories with that car) at '83 he still drives it when he and my mom visit. Good luck on your search -Jim

Thanks guys. My world will be pretty hectic from now until the end of the year, so I am not in a real hurry. I figured I'd just get it out there and if anyone sees the rusting hulk shell of my dreams I'd appreciate a heads up.

Bump.
Have not been looking real hard because of how rough last year has been. Just throwing it out there again. Thanks.

I will keep you in mind.  There are a LOT of people hurting financially and having to get rid of project cars that just never got started on.  I have a friend  who has had one heart transplant and is now facing another at age 59.  He has a GREAT 70 Mach 1 (originally yellow) that he is second owner on (bought it in '79).  He is not wanting to sell it but may have to and yes, it is a project car.  But I will keep an eye out for CC car here in SoCal and let you know if I turn up anything.  Good luck in your search!!

Thanks for keeping an eye out Randy.

To be perfectly honest, I have accepted the fact that I probably won't find one any time soon, if ever, and if we find one that we can get, we'll probably end up with a rusted east coast shell. However, I am 100% ok with that. I enjoy the search, and it is kind of a way to keep my dad "alive' in a sense.

Something in this conditon is ok. I think this one is a bit over priced and wrong color but the condition is acceptable. Just looking to save one from scrap yard.
