Hi Bossman,

Yes it took a while it's difficult from the other side of the world, I guess the biggest fear is trust. With so many scams out there you never know. The costs to get a car from the states to Aus all depends on what the purchase price is?

Shipping is a standard $3500 US, Transport in the states varies form $1300 to $1600, all this gets added to your purchase price then you pay Governement Service Tax of 10% on the total i.e.

Cost of Car $45000
Shipping $3500
Transport $1600
Total $50100
GST $5010
Total cost landed in Aus  $55110.00

And worse still if you go over $57000.00 total then you pay an additional 36% luxury car tax on the total, so hence once finished $70K plus, and for that money you could get a great Boss in the current market . So we aussies have to be very careful when buying a car out of the states, I am lucky I found what I wanted in my price range and won't have to pay LCT.

I guess it would be similar sending from to the U.S?

Thanks for your interest.

Regards
Gino

:o  Wow Gino...that GST tax is really steep!  Guess like you said, you really must trust the seller or have a trusted friend who knows boss mustang to get a solid deal!  Not those surprises after the fact when the car finally reaches you and find hidden flaws ... especially paying all those extra fees!  Thanks for sharing!  Good luck on your final purchase and b2!

Here in Ontario Canada, we get extorted 13% everytime you buy something.
Good luck with the car.

;)  Great news Gino and what a wait that must be killing you for sure!  I know as I waited for mine without knowing all the obstacles my b2 had to endure coming over.  But as Earl (Noboss) said, 3-4 days is really fast...maybe the shipping industry that serves down under has some "blower" or "nitrous" on their shipping engines????  LOL!

G'Day guys, 3-4 days I wish, it is more like 6 weeks should be here late July early August.

Yes knowing I have a new addition to the stable and having to wait another 8 weeks is tough but as long as it arrives safely and in the condition the report and photos show the wait will be worth it.

I will keep all informed as the next piece of the journey develops.

Thanks everybody for the good wishes,

Gino - I admire your patience as I found it difficult to wait the three days it took to ship the 1970 Boss 302 I bought in Spokane, Washington to be trucked to Los Angeles, California.
