Fuel Gauge Dash Light
(1/1)
71bossmd:
When I was coming home from a show last night, my fuel gauge dash light went out. Does anyone know the part number on the light and the best way to replace it?
Thanks...

The brighter lights may help because the guage trio are always dimmer than the rest...I ended up trimming the inner cover and it brightened up considerably.

Yes the BLUE covers (when new) often are brown over the years. Remember the old light puts off heat and draws more power in some cases (when going bad).
This is why so many of us are use to "green shade" guages - light through the "now brown" filter looks green.
LED and SMD produce the natural or white light (or colors) without filters OR using higher power or getting hot. Even though I am a "purest" (being 54 and wanting to see and be seen) is why I choose to install SMD's in my latest restoration (428scj)
This photo if actually of three different SMD's. The plate light is just a white light. But the left side has a cool white SMD and the right has a red SMD. ( we latter change both to reds - I liked that best)
The other thing about Bill's kits are they aren't just "bulbs from Walmart" ! He has spec every bulb to insure the correct side firing (for a cluster) or forward firing for a warning light. Even the brake lights are of correct SAE and DOT requirements for law (in some states)
