What"s this hole for ?
« on: June 10, 2012, 07:07:32 pm »
I had my trunk open today ,and after reading the post about ex. fumes coming in the car,  I looked around a bit.
I have a Hole,  about  3/8  +    located  at the base of the taillite pannel   about  7"  down from the center of the gas cap.
It looks factory, because on the inside there is something like undercoat or seam sealer  circling around  the hole;  and the coating was painted over.
I would have never seen this, had I not been looking around.
Anyone have this ?  Any Ideas ?
                                                                       Thanks,   Jim

Opened the trunk, cheaked out the plate lite,  all there.  This hole is at about the same level / plane  as the plate lite  wire, but it is between the plate lite hole and the  center line of the gas filler tube.
All I can think of is someone put  Air shocks on  &  mounted the line fitting in this spot.  But like I said, it looks like factory goop around the hole  ?
                                                      Any other Ideas  ?           Jim

A picture is worth a 1000 words. The air shock valve idea is a good one.
