How To Test A Boss Rev Limiter

<< < (2/3) > >>

tgilliam:
This might be a good question to ask Tim O'Connor. He may already have something setup to do this or it might be a service he would be interested in adding to his Distributor business. I would think there would be several members here and on the 428 CobraJet Forum interested in having a rev limiter tested / verified that it is working correctly. If Tim decides to do it as a service I am 100% confident that it would be done right and you could depend on the results.

Nitro:
It is cool to restore a classic as it was made but
I would not risk my engine using 1970 electronics..
Yes, have the limiter there for all to see it does have to work.
Use a hidden aftermarket rev limiter like an MSD.
Question ? I have never used the stock rev limiter. Do they
kill all eight at once or just one cylinder ?
The ARE unit I used would shut the whole engine off at what ever RPM I set it to
then refire all eight once the RPM went below my setting.

Danoh1:
When I bumped the stock limiter on my old 351 HO, it would kill the capacitor.  I would then get to limp home, unless I had a spare.

It didn't last long, and I sold it!

BOSS-STANG:
Somehwhere I saw instructions on how to gut a stock Boss rev limiter and put in modern rev limiter components. But I can't remember where.
