If you magnify the E you can clearly see a C stamped under it.

For those still interested... there appears to be a C under the E

A 3D image also confirms

For the nerds, infrared 3D image

There appears to be what remains of a vertical line at the Z

3D image shows something is there, but it's not conclusive

This might be a fake distributor  :-\

Aussie_Boss302,

Holy Crap O Rama  Thats amazing  :o :o What clarity and detail at that magnification.  No doubt in my military mind that thats a bogus dizzy. Great job. The crooks are getting better at faking these parts for sure. I'm glad I bought all my Boss parts to do my resto 22 years ago before the flood of bogus parts onto the market. Every time a part comes up as a suspicious fake on this site, I check the part in question on my Boss just to make sure. So far I'm hitting 100%.
Thankx for posting those pics.  ;)

BOSS-STANG,

You are very welcome.  You're fortunate to have collected your pieces before those buggers started taking advantage.  Personally, I can't spend $2k on the real deal and I'd rather bolt on a Mallory dual point as opposed to using this item... It'll remain in my box of Rare Spares  ::)

Aussie_Boss302 - Impressive analysis of the letters on the distributor.  My Boss 302 was missing its original distributor, so I bought a 289 HiPo unit which actually has the correct date code for my car.  But since my car runs well with the electronic distributor that was on the car when I bought it, the HiPo unit has been sitting in the garage for over a year.

I can see it coming..
Soon there will be more BOSS 302s around then
the actual number ever made.
something like the Z-28 .
All of us members on here that have owned a BOSS
need to keep doing our thing posting what is real and what is not !
The new members and people getting into out hobby real have no
idea as to what to look for when they find a BOSS for sale.
I would say this site is there bench mark for a real answer.....
Nitro.
