Once you've turned 50, make an appointment with a cardiologist and have a stress test done -- every 4-5 years.  I just turned 50 and had it done.  If your insurance won't cover it, pay cash for it -- sell an air cleaner or some parts if you have to -- the most important part is ticking away inside your chest and when it stops...you won't need that air cleaner anyway.
.

Along that same line of thinking is to get some kind of exercise into your life, whether its surfing, tennis, running, find something, even walking, that keeps the heart healthy as we get older...
A sedentary lifestyle is far more dangerous than even smoking...

I was shocked when I heard the news today about G.S. , I met him a few times , Fuddruckers in Monrovia with his really Cool Maverick with a 5.0 engine , and in Escondido cruise night with his 72 Green Mustang (that was Fun Night) G.S. took the time to talk with me when I was looking for my Boss , I flew to Illinois and we talked on the phone as I walked around the car asking him questions , G.S. was the first person here to post 5000 times , Steve (G.S.) was a true Car Guy , I wish I knew him better , we will be all together again to talk about Cars and stuff one day , G.S. we will all miss you Buddy , to his Family my condolences , rest in Peace G.S. we will all miss you.

WOW, hard to believe this for those of us that knew him WOW!! certainly out of the blue that's for sure!! For us Boss and Shelby guys outside the USA he made us real welcome, he even stored a 67 GT500 in his garage for me  when I had nowhere to store it, before it got shipped. He enjoyed knowing that the Boss/Shelby craze was world wide and saw the humour in us foreigners snapping up these muscle cars. Unfortunately I didn't get to catch up with him in the last few years, damn. RIP GS you will be sadly missed.

What a shock.

He was very welcoming when I first came here.

Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Along the health line.. I'd not been feeling well for a couple months.

One day I woke up and said, it's time to see the Doc.

My blood pressure was 160/80, not good.

I now take a Beta Blocker, and feel so much better.

Per Gary's request: As a tribute, start your BOSS at 3:02 tomorrow, or spend that moment beside your car in his memory.

Well I just fired it up at 3:02 PM in honor of G.S. , hope he heard it , well miss you Buddy.

GS's Funeral details for anyone interested in attending:

Friday, Oct. 30th at 11am, St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 107 W. Marquita, San Clemente, CA 92672.
Burial immediately following at El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Rd., Lake Forest, CA 92630.

Also, his sister, Heidi, is looking for Mark Brown's contact information, please PM me if you have phone, email, etc for Mark Brown.

Finally, in speaking with Heidi, GS's passing was so sudden, he laid down on his bed in the morning, and died of a heart attack. Apparently, he was ready for work, in his tie and shoes, and texted someone there at 6am saying he didn't feel well and would be late...
