That is going to be the "big daddy" of all auctions.  It's going to suck all of the air out of the Scottsdale auctions this year.  Lots of very rare cars of all makes.

Good for the buyers but not to good for the sellers.

Actually it might be good for the seller at Mecum because the seller can set a high reserve and only lift it when he or she is satisfied with the auction price. Otherwise take it home and sell at a later date.

What if anything do you think this will do to the prices ? Is it a sign that investors are getting out ? I also think there are at least 5 more for sale on the net that are not on this list. Seems like a lot of movement to say the least !

Looking forward to seeing all these B9's there. Will be my first time at this location and who doesn't love Florida in the winter. Any other forum members heading down ? Would be nice to meet up and put some faces to the names.  Also the following week is The big first Race for the new  Ford GT at Daytona so a lot of great car stuff in one area.

Yeah mecum will be selling MANY DRINK tickets there to some of the b9 sellers whose cars don't sell  there after flooding the market but I hope I am wrong & I was there last year when tim wellborn mopar collection sold all those 71 hemi chargers & most of them sold so we will see if history repeats itself.

Not all Boss 429's are restored equally. This is especially true among some auction cars I've seen personally.

If the sellers were trying to beat the stock market crash, their timing was a little late.
I do believe we are in for a little market correction with collector cars especially the expensive ones.

If the market is down, should be really good for the classic car market.  It always is when people need somewhere else to put their money during a dip.  But with that many Boss 9s I'd say the numbers will be average and half or more won't sell.  We'll soon find out!

What was wrong with 1333? I about fell out of my chair when the reserve was dropped at 130...  Nerves of steel by the owner or some shortcoming I couldn't see from my easy chair.

Just my opinion for what it's worth, the one Red car that did well was the most complete car from what I could see on my phone.  For example, 1333 had a number of things wron or missing under the hood - smog, distributor, radiator overflow tube...so who knows what else was wrong with the car unless you are there.  Normally the cars that go to auction aren't that great, and when the good ones do show up they do well.  One of the '69 cars has a Hurst shifter that isn't even a '70 Ford Hurst and it's one f the feature photos for the car!!!  The mopars that brought big money were restored to perfection and they were rare, bottom line.  Good Boss 9s just sell more privately.

I did look at all 7 of the B9's  and while I am no expert I do know what to look for and what I am looking at. That said most all the cars were just ok and most were bid to the right amount .  there was not one car that was over the top that should have commanded a crazy high bid.  there was way nicer non Ford cars there for open minded collectors to add to there collections. some of the  Yenko and Hemi cars were top notch and the 2 69 firebird trans am convertibles bid to $1.400.000 and $1.900.000  both no sale !!!
