How far are you willing to travel?
« on: February 11, 2016, 09:39:07 am »
How far would you travel with your car?
How far would you travel without your car?
Just for reference, Dearborn is about 2300 miles from the west coast.

I live in Vancouver, Washington, 2303.7 miles to Dearborn, have trailered a vehicle out their and back twice, would do it again in a heartbeat, the people in the Detroit area really know how to put on a spectacular event!!!

I'm in no matter what. I live in Wisconsin and will pretty much go where even this event lands. I guess I'm pretty resigned to the fact no matter where it's held I'm pulling a trailer and driving a couple days.  Unless it's here in Wisconsin!  ;D 8) you are all invite, come on over!

I just called Reliable Carriers.
Current price to ship 6 cars round trip in an enclosed truck from the west coast to Dearborn is around $21,000.00. That's $3500 per car.

I just checked out AAAT, a company that ships cars via Amtrak. I got a quote of $800-850 from LA-Dearborn.
www.aaat.com

Edit: Just reread their site. Not sure about the Amtrak part. But that was their quote anyway.

I'm coming from New Zealand, no matter where in the US the Reunion is held.
Would love to bring the BOSS, but the budget won't stretch that far.
Cheers,
Bob.

Bob,
Not an issue, Buy one that's already here go to the reunion, ship the car back home. Have another BOSS. It's a win.

I went to Dearborn last time 1500 +- each way, Carlisle in 2005 was crazy went way out of way to get a good caravan ..direct 1600 each way, ended up 3600 round trip.  Would go to either again for sure.  Just getting out of TX from here is about 580 to west, you are halfway to California by that time!  Fun to see the country.

I'd trailer my Boss 302 1,500 miles or so.
From NY Carlisle, Dearborn, Fredericksburg, Charlotte, Tulsa are all within range.
Further than that I'd hop a plane.
