1969 Cougar Eliminator Rear Spoiler
« on: May 28, 2016, 08:25:06 am »
Anyone looking for a 69 Eliminator rear spoiler? I'm pretty sure I have one that came off a 69 Mustang I was parting out. The pedestals are 31" apart and the base of the pedestals is solid, not hollow like on a 70 Mustang. The pedestals are attached to the spoiler with rivets not screws. The attachment to the deck lid is by a bold nut arrangement, not a single bolt as I think was originally used. (possibly a field mod by a previous owner) I haven't priced the spoiler because I do not want to misrepresent it.  I can supply info or photos if needed however the photos were too large to attach to this message. If I can determine it is real I will sell it on the parts for sell site.  Comments would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have a '69 Cougar Eliminator rear spoiler...  31" between pedestals (Mustangs are 36"), solid pedestal feet, rivetted to the wing.

*Pics are from someone elses post here long ago.  I saved them for reference.

Hello Mike, The spacers were not used on 69 Eliminator. On Cougar, the bolt head and washer tighten against the deck lid's inner skin.

Good to know, thanks!  I think the pics are actually from a '69 mustang spoiler, which could(?) explain the spacers.  It's been a while, so my memory isn't clear on the details :-/

Thank you for offering the spoiler orangstang.  The item was described well and shipped for review without payment.  Who does that anymore except Frank Bowers (at least for me he did, lol)
