First time out!
« on: September 02, 2017, 05:11:10 pm »
After almost four years and no telling how much money, I was finally able to take the BOSS out for its first little showing. Had a great time and got lots of positive comments.

Wow, congrats on gettin her out on the town. There's a lot of summer left and cool fall days to come.

Wish mine was that far along... She looks great & much faster next to that hunk of streamlined fiberglass.

Any nagging issues lingering I'm sure you'll put in the rear view mirror soon.

I've glued the mirror on twice and it came off both times. The last time just before I drove to the Cruze. 😤

The 4th time was the charm glueing the mirror on my nephew's 93 Cobra. WTH???

Congrats Tim.  It's been awhile but I can still remember that first drive too and it feels great.  I put 33K miles on my first BOSS then it sat from 1975 to 1990 before getting it back on the road.  Original engine stolen, found another in 77, had it rebuilt and it sat for 10+ years.  Your car looks great my friend.  Good luck to you.

Still several months away myself.  In this rapidly approaching day of self driving cars, nothing better than a four on the floor, honest to god air sucking carb, gas fume producing exhaust, tire burning trans, noisy lawless fun machine.  Oh my, what these Millennials are missing.
Congrats!

Tim,

Your restoration process reads like a book, the sense of adventure, its suttle setbacks, times of triumph, sweet thrill of success. You have inspired many with your attention to detail, in the time spent in sharing the process of an intensive, exhaustive restoration. To many it has inspired, to others it may have scared them away, no matter, its a story needed to be told. Not every restoration has to be as refined as yours, each person has his own level of refinement,  every outcome is the dream of the one undertaking the task. GREAT JOB!

To all the others working to bring their dream to reality, don't give up, its not the time or money spent, its the fun we have doing what our hobby calls us to. Have fun,  enjoy each moment, knowing that in time your project will reap the fruits of your effort.

Myself, my car will never be done, thats OK, it has a good foundation, solid body, many original parts, and I hope many hours of enjoyment refining, tweaking and driving one of the finest cars of its age. Simply being a caretaker for a brief moment in the history of a Grabber Blue / White interior BOSS 302.

Congratulations!!   I (we?) follow everyone's restorations, progress if they post.   Lately "photobucket" has put a crimp in the sharing IMO.  It's too bad as many of us use the forums as a "wiki" on a given car.
