Questionable at Best 1970 Eliminator on EBay?
« on: September 30, 2017, 05:57:21 pm »
??? ::). Just seen this Eliminator and one thing stood out; the listing seller claims previous owner stated 3 cars to make this one .  No VIN posted as well?  Cougar experts any thoughts?  Rebody?  Earl

I believe what the seller means by 'Took 3 cars to make one rust free car" is that he used parts from 3 donor cars. IF there are any questions/doubts, I suggest you contact the seller for clarification. Btw, the VIN is visible on the Marti reports in the ebay ad.
Current lifelong project:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 6 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase headed, intake mounted with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style…Whew!

Matt-can you clear this up for us- does the car have the correct brace in the trunk for the staggered shocks set up? as mentioned in the previous post?

Also, 1970 Boss 302 and 428 Eliminators had a Cougar specific trunk brace for the staggered shocks that is absent in the rebody.  It is very difficult to find and virtually impossible to replicate.

thanks

Based on a pic I have, I believe it has been replicated or a donor was found, and added to the trunk.

To clear things up, yes the car does have the correct brace in the trunk for the staggered shocks.

I will post some pictures of the car. Not sure what the previous owner did, I don't know if the car was wrecked or rotted.

The car has a beautiful body on it. Sorry i don't look at the boss registry everyday.

The best way to get ahold of me is on my cell phone or text me 978-375-0014 Thanks Matt
