50th Anniversary BOSS Reunion:
After some searching we have settled in on a joint event and a facility that we think will accommodate the 50th anniversary.  Randy and I discussed various options and we both felt it was important to combine the Boss Reunion with another event.  Joining another event will greatly help facilitate the reunion.  Our choice is to team with Auto Interests, a group that manages many high performance driving experience (HPDE) events - in addition they produce a specific event called Car Fest.  Car Fest is an annual event that was previously held at the Mid-Ohio track.  In 2018 Car Fest will move to the Pittsburg International Race Complex (PittRace).  This year 2017, I attended the Car Fest at Mid-Ohio, the Auto Interest group ran a good event which included track days, auto cross, live band and a car show.
I also made a site visit to Pitt Race.  In comparison to Mid-Ohio the Pitt Race facility and surrounding area offers more on-site space, easier access, and better hotel options.  Auto Interest has made the decision to move Car Fest to Pitt Race for 2018 and 2019.
Holding the 50th Anniversary BOSS Reunion as “an event in an event” will greatly help us organize and coordinate.   Auto Interest can manage on-line registration, they carry insurance which is required by all venues and they can help with pre-event communication and on-site event management.
By combining the events we will get options to drive on track, option to participate in the auto X activity.  BOSS cars will have their own designated show car area, host hotel and more than likely our own banquet.  We are starting to build and confirm details and will update on the forum as information becomes available.
I anticipate posting a link for a survey which I strongly encourage everyone to take.  This survey will help with determining specific participation numbers to help secure the proper host hotels, help us gage the interest for each individual activity and get individual input.  It is very important to get your comments and a survey is a very good way to accomplish that.  Of course, you may always post your comments on the forum.  But a strong survey response will gather and sort the information into an easy to read format.
Please take a look at the web sites listed below.  The sites will give you a look at the venue and provide information about the event partner.  Thanks, please let us know what you think.  I am really looking forward to helping plan the 2019 event!

Will be there! I don’t currently own a Boss, but would be interested in helping/volunteering with the event.

It conflicts with my local club hosting the 2019 MCA Grand National.  I guess I will be attending in spirit.

Sounds good to me since my son lives in Pittsburgh.  But... I still think it should be centrally located, like Tulsa, so nobody has an excuse not to attend.  I hate it for the west coast members as I know if it was held in LA I would definitely be a no show.

I'll be attending the 2018 event in Kansas, but far east coast won't be on the cards.

That would be a tough pill to swallow for us here in CA...
I might fly out though, we'll see.
Glad you got it sorted out, sounds like a lot of fun...

I understand you can't please everyone, but being from Seattle, this would be difficult to drive to this location. Having your BOSS Mustang present is an important part of a gathering like this. For the 50th anniversary of the Mustang in 2014, MCA had two events, one on the East coast, one on the West coast. I am sure this is the equivalent of have one migraine vs. having two migraines, but I thought I would post this idea since I know there are a lot of BOSSES in the Western states that will not attend due to Pittsburgh being too far away. The date of 2019 is still far away enough, that finding something for the people out here could be possible. Thanks,    :'(   Mark

Pitt Race is an awesome facility, I run my 2012 Boss 302 LS there all the time plus it's just 20 minutes from my house. You guys will love the track & the facility in there's a lot to do in the area: breweries & such. Great choice! I was at Mid Ohio for the 2017 Auto Interest & it's a great event! Having a Boss reunion on the west coast, then one in the central US, & one on the east coast really helps everyone because there's no way i could make a west coast or even a central US event, as I'm sure theres people on the west coast that can't make a central US one or an east coast one.

Looking forward to this guys! I'd put you all up at my place here but my wife might not like it ;)

This sounds fantastic...but its too far east for me. I would have loved to bring my 69 but I just couldn't. Oh well, maybe the west coast guys can take it upon themselves to organize and "unofficial" 50th reunion. That one I would attend WITH my car.

Too bad, I was hoping the 50th would have been more central so I could bring my car. Have fun anyway guys!

Any reason why you wouldn't choose to combine this event with an MCA or SAAC event?

It would just make it a lot easier for those of us that are committed to MCA & SAAC shows.  And since 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Mach I, the Grande, the Boss 429 & 302, the last GT, and the last Shelby Mustang, my guess is that Ford, Shelby American, and other key industry players were planning to come out in a big way.  Might be a bit diluted if they have to do it in several locations.

Labor Day weekend is usually an MCA Grand National Show, and although 2019 is an anniversary year (55th, no Grand National), at least one club has applied for a National Show that weekend.

I was actually hoping for a Boss Reunion in Dearborn

Many of us will be attending the Nationals in Kansas, but at least they are a year apart - Nationals first, then set my sights on the reunion. 2 parties are better than none!
