Soon to be crushed BOSS 302
« on: August 12, 2018, 09:04:14 pm »
A buddy in sent me this BOSS 302 in an old junk yard. Has anyone seen it before? Apparently it was wrecked after only a couple weeks of being sold and is missing vins. Although im not sure if he knows where to look for the vin. Might have a title and will be scrapped soon. Its about 12 hours away from me but ill pick it up for the price of less than $300...

Why bother? Its a worthless pile with no VIN numbers. Its probably worth 2 bucks in scrap metal. Unfortunately, some cars are a total loss.
<My old heap Boss 302…aka S-B Racing!

Current lifelong project:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase headed, intake mounted with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style…Whew!

It looks like the left side Fender apron may still be reasonably intact. If the VIN  is still on the top surface, it would be good to get.
If the VIN is entered in the Registry then the car can be noted as scraped.
Not worth buying the car though. As the others have said, it's toast.
Cheers,
Bob.

Hey, you can put this thing on your property and build a killer garden around it. Be a nice conversation piece. And you can say you own 2 bosses.  ;D

There are some good looking truck cabs in the background.

You should investigate the VIN stamping on the fenders and photograph the VIN number if there to send to the registery rogues gallery. This way if the car has a data point of condition and someone else has already run off with the VIN tag it can be documented as to the where abouts of the original car.

Here are a few items that would be worth getting off this Boss as they would be
The  lip molding that goes around the door roof line ( as It's almost impossible to find that item- took me 6 years to locate, also the roof rail ss piece and lastly the ss molding around the front window,

Can't see inside but maybe some of the small items and wiring?

I will bet that the VIN is on another Mustang.
