Imagination?
« on: November 16, 2018, 10:09:00 am »
I don't own one, but I sometimes look online at used offerings.  Prices for the '12-13 B2's are holding better than I expected they would. Am I the only one who feels that way?  I figured they would be overshadowed by the new body styles and continued performance improvements that came. Thoughts?  Is this B2 group worthy of buying to enjoy and MAYBE hold it's value or possibly someday be an appreciating asset?

I have been watching as well. The prices do seem to holding up beyond what I would have thought they would. I do not think they will ever be considered a collector car but still they are nice cars.

"I do not think they will ever be considered a collector car"

I'd bet you are wrong on that one.   ;)

But I may be way off too.  Could be a day when gasoline is no longer available and our old cars are just pieces sitting in antique stores. :'(

I couldn't agree more and one of the reasons I sold my 14 Shelby.  I hope to buy a 13 LS next year to keep and pass on to my grandson in about 8 years when he is 21.

While I believe that the 2012 - 2013 BOSS Mustangs are collector cars, if you want to view them as a potential investment, you should also factor in the cost of ownership (finance charges if applicable, license and registration fees, insurance, maintenance, etc).  Of course you really can't put a price on the joy you get from driving a BOSS Mustang!

Ok all I retract the "not a collector car comment". My mistake. I am going to be selling one of my non-Mustang collector cars will be in the market for a 2013 Boss 302 myself.

I have turned down sticker price for my '13 GO LS twice from two different buyers. Shelby is more fun to drive, but the LS is far more unique.

Wrong color and too many miles. Owner wanted out. The LS BOSSES are holding their values from what I can see.

5 owners who babied this LS and none of them ever pounded on it? Reflected in price IMHO.

Here is a nice 2012 BOSS 302 L/S as it is owned by Parnelli Jones:

Someone working for Parnelli brought it to our Cars & Coffee when it was new and I've only seen the BOSS 302 once. - Mark
