1969 Calypso Coral/White interior BOSS 302
« on: March 14, 2019, 01:03:21 pm »
Extremely nice Calypso Coral 1969 BOSS 302. If you are looking for one this is truly one of those numbers matching low mileage cars, not original paint but an excellent restoration by Jim Boyd. I've been under and in this car. I always hear people complain that they never get the opportunity to buy the top end. Here it is.

Nice combination, I like it. I knew I've seen this car before. Pretty sure it's the same one that was at Marcus Anghel's open house January 2016. Great looking car, I walked around and drooled all over it. I apologize to the new owner!

Ok. I think that’s the best B2 I’ve ever seen. And loaded with options.

Jim will eventually see these comments ....and HE (and anyone that wants a great car) should be proud!    IF you want to collect the set - Jim's work on 428CJ (1970) is just as good !!

I will admit I may not know the finest of details of a '69 BOSS 302, but I have known Jim for quite a few years, he will be making the rounds with his '65 GT350 this summer, should be one of the few ever Division 1 gold '65 cars. His work speaks for itself and Mark, the current owner,  has performed a few improvements to bring it up to what you see now. I am sure Mark will talk to anyone who is serious on this car.  Can't say how often a '69 BOSS of this caliper comes up for sale, but it is not often. If you have ever considered in purchasing one, I would seriously consider looking at this car;  quality, good history and rarity dictates the price. When Mark purchased the car, as a gift I gave him a DOORS 8 track cassette, John Slack gave him a Barry Manilow 8 track cassette. Each to their own musical tastes I guess.  Mark just called me as I was typing this and he has heard indirectly from Bob Perkins, he has seen this car in person,  this is also a division 1 car , a true 1 percenter, whatever that means. Had the opportunity to buy this car for $35k in 2007 when it was completely disassembled in an AZ backyard.  Most all the parts were there in boxes.  Saw it completed in Vegas at the 50th.  Great body paint, engine bay was too shiny, front upholstery was saggy/loose, can't remember the texture black, but hood blackout was not dimensionally correct especially at front peak.   Originally a rust free original panel car.  VIN stamped engine. May have had some more work done since then.  Rare and desirable!!

Thanks for all the nice comments.

I agree, the fronts seats were off...

I located original comfort weave material, refoamed the seats and had the original material sewn in. They feel and look stock now.  The dash was rechromed and a few other small details were completed.

Jim did a great job with it and was good resource for me to discuss all things "Boss" with.

Thanks,

Mark

Just curious, were there any '69 Calypso Bosses made with white, high back comfortweave seats?
