I did a double checked the photo its worrying you would have to really check it out before a purchasing sure wreck the value be nice to find all the other parts distributor dipstick-pulleys all brackets wondering how much rust is inside just from sitting  i would bore scope if possible .

The ear looks repaired (welded) by the VIN , or is just me.

Well, I sent them a message asking if there is a VIN stamp, and telling them where to look.  Gave them my number and email and said "send pics" or call.

If more people ask about the VIN stamp they might be more inclined to actually go take a look ;-)

Got a reply from Jim at the auction house.  No VIN stamp.  Looks like there is quite a bit of welding that was done on this block as well.

RISKY, wouldn't pay much that block a problem valve cover have ugly repairs not sure if the carb is right ? fuel pump is wrong  intake is a D1 i see exhaust manifold and good heads be nice to know if they are D1's

I would bid $1000 to $1,500 use it for parts

How does a block break at both dowel pins ?
