« on: November 06, 2019, 10:56:48 am »
0F02G108865 was posted on Barn Finds, and listed on eBay.  "Junk yard find".  Bit of a mess.
NOT MINE!  I just thought it might be good to record this one for any future owner to be aware of.

1970 Mustang Boss 302. Car is a shmangled basket case that was picked over for years in a wreckers yard. Selling for a friend who is cleaning out the yard and found this gem. Look at the marti report he got. This was a highly optioned boss back in the day. He found the clear Nebraska title and build sheet page in the office folder. The only visible vin on the car is the dash vin tag which is in the pictures. Car has been stripped over the years and the only thing that resembles a boss that remains is the wrap around shock towers and the shaker hood. Car is being sold as is where is and is with no warranties, and is located in Cleveland Tennessee. Car being sold to highest bidder at no reserve. Bid to own. $500 non refundable deposit due withing 48 hours of auction close with the balance to be paid by certified funds within 7 days of auction close. Seller will assist with world wide shipping.

Pretty early VIN for '70, one of the first 10-12 built that year?

I like the color and options. Priced right for a project. Someone will have a blast slowly bringing this one back to a driver.

The first option listed is Black Hood Stripe. I've never seen that before.
I thought all '70 BOSSes got the hood stripes as Standard equipment.
Cheers,
Bob.

A masochist perhaps!     Yes, "slowly", like pulling the band-aid off, ever so slowly, so one can enjoy all the pain!     ::)

….More like having 'deep pockets' to repair it.
Current lifelong project:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 6 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase headed, intake mounted with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style…Whew!

Sold for $5,350! …That's a much more realistic project price than...well... than the seller who shall not be named. haha... Either the buyer for this has a load of money, or a load of patience!  ;D ...I hope he's a forum member and shows us the evolution of the restoration

I just hope it doesn't end up as a complete rebody.  By including pictures and the listing info with the VIN, hopefully future buyers will know to look for signs of the repairs or signs of a rebody.

But hey!  Someone just bought a real Boss 302 for about $5k!  It's missing so much, and needs so much work, that they effectively have a clean slate.  They can do just about anything they want to this car and still claim: "Yes, it's a real Boss 302" and that they saved it.

...I think if it were me, I'd be shopping for some dynacorn sheet metal, and looking for wrecked 2012/2013 Boss 302's for a donor drivetrain ;-)
