A/S Tires for use in Winter Too
« on: November 07, 2019, 02:35:10 pm »
My Pirelli P Zeros are in need of replacing & my (ol beater) 2nd car bit the dust this summer so no longer have that vehicle to use during Central IL Winters so thought I'd check the Forum to see if anyone was running the BF Goodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S Tires (same sizes as stock P Zeros setup) on a 13 Boss (base) & how they performed in colder climates & snow/ice. I've checked reviews on American Muscle/TireRack/YouTube & feedback seems to be pretty good but no specific reviews for a 13 Boss 302. A couple hundo or so cheaper than the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Sidewall on this tire looks kinda unusual (to the comparables) from the pics I've seen but could prolly get used to them. Think I've decided to just try a HQ A/S rather than dedicated snow tires as Winter only seems to last a couple months or so in my area nowadays & I can be somewhat selective on when I hit the road.

YouTube had a 13 Boss 302 with Continental Extreme Contact DSW 06 (A/S tire) that had good reviews in Canada climate but according to TireRack the rears don't meet the XL load rating req. for the Boss 302.

The tread on the A/S looks like a truck tire. Sidewall area looks funky. Nitto makes great tires too .

Any 13 Boss owners running the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires in winter temps & if so any feedback on performance you've experienced on snow & ice? TireRack hasn't tested the A/S 3+ (just the A/S 3) yet on snow/ice. Michelin claims they perform 28% better on snow/ice than the A/S 3s.
