I owe you some photos!!!
« on: November 18, 2019, 07:32:39 pm »
Finished my build a few weeks back, just in time for SEMA. Would have updated my old thread but all the photos got blown away.  :(

Wanted to say thanks to everyone here who helped with the technical details. I learned so much from this forum. Couldn't have done it without you all!

The finished car is rowdy as hell and is exactly what I hoped it would be. Feels like a race car on the street. Handles incredibly well. I am currently putting hard break-in miles on it and shaking out the bugs prior to thrashing it at the local autocross events.

I know some of the details aren't for everyone, but that's o.k. I built it for me, and on the street, the attention the car gets is unlike anything I've ever owned.

Full build blog is available on my website for anyone who wants to dig into the details, but most of it will be familiar to you.  :)

Forgive the missing shift boot in the interior shot. Got that done the day after the photo shoot.  :D

Mac,
Outstanding work, outstanding looks and just WOW!!  I only have one negative ( it's just ME), I don't like the green..!  It is what YOU wanted and that is ALL that matters. I'm of that same mindset.  Very happy you built your dream Mustang and completed it!  CONGRATS!  ENJOY every minute!

Ed,
Just a bit of sarcasm on my part, you probably won't like my cars color either. Yep, you guessed it: Green also!  LOL

It's an olive green paint, non-metallic. 1978 Porsche color. It often looks a little brighter/more saturated in photos than it does in real life.

So good to be driving a thing that you built over nearly three years!

Mac it is fantastic! If it drives as well as it looks you are having a ball with it. Glad to see some pictures on the site again. Great build.

Mac... turned out great.

I'll be looking for it to turn up in one of the Fast & Furious movies or maybe in a video game soon!

Awesome, thanks all! I just wanted everyone to see that all that feedback and info turned into something real! And it's on the road (though not this week because it's raining)!

I hope to compete in the next local autocross and will be sure to share videos with everyone.

Mac,
Please do that!  I expect you will surprise many....You have the best of both, older classic body style with full race ultimate chassis power/grip!  ENJOY all the hard work, you deserve it!!  I love Autocross too!!

What a great build..congrats. Skip the autocross and head right to the road course track. What are you using for a radiator? My current setup isn't keeping my 408 stroker motor cool.
