BOSS dash tach
« on: January 16, 2020, 09:12:25 am »
Anyone interested in a dash tach out of a BOSS 302? It is dated May 21 1969.

I have pictures but can’t seem to find a way to attach them.

$300

A total bargain at $300 even if it doesn't work.  You can always retrofit modern internals.

Jason, FYI Boss 302 could have either Tach depending on the interior option. The Tach you have is for the Standard Interior and the Deluxe Tach would be for a car with the Interior Decor Group which is what I needed. GLWS!

So what differences are there between a STD interior tach and one from a deluxe interior?

I can understand the dash changes, woodgrain, etc. but the tachs?

Educate me please!

Doug, a standard Tach like Jason's has a Black Face with large numbers; a Deluxe Tach has a deep blue/gray face with small numbers on it.

Completely different looking.

The face of the gauges is different. Standard interior has black faced gauges, deluxe are grayish blue. Also I think the standard  has a running horse for the bright lights indicator, deluxe has a round light. There are probably other differences but that is what I remember off the top of my head.

Thanks for the info! Did not know this.

So do the tachs differ in '70 as well?

It's just the tach, not the gauges or housing. John

Deluxe has a idiot light right above the tach dial ...but I forget what it is used for(headlight). Also, if you plan to purchase a tach dash ask for pictures cause those that were sitting outside in the elements will probably need to be repainted on all the gauge faces. I bought some that were actually really nice sealed by the gauge plastic. Repainting is a fortune so be aware. Also, the metal base (speedo/tach) is unique to a tach dash setup and very hard to find so make sure that's not rusting out as well cause no one re-makes these components. If you buy a partial dash tach setup good luck finding parts. I had to have one metal base remade cause it was corroded ...not cheap
