Hi Greg,

Unless bossneeds and hopey have anything else to add there's really not much else.

The only other thing I can think of is to be aware of how you get in and out of the seat. I've noticed if you slide yourself into the driver's seat it has a tendency to put some wear on the outer edge of the seat base and seat back bolsters. I love the secure feeling of the Racaro seats. In fact, to me they are the most comfortable seats I have had in any car I've owned.

I can't wait to hear about your first ride with the track key. You may think the regular key ride is crazy enough but wait until then. Thrill of a lifetime that will put the biggest smile on your face but will certainly put a new meaning to your "Be SAFE".

Have fun!

Use good quality high octane gas when using the track key. The knock sensor is dialed way back in the tune and it’s easy to have pinging/detonation when driving hard with anything less than only 93 in the tank. Found this out when up in the Smoky Mountains/Tail of the Dragon a couple years ago....gas quality up there was questionable...

Thanks, I only use 93 in my '70 BOSS or 91 ethanol free, would you reccomed using this? At times I'll put 100 ethanol free in to clean it up and give it a shot of quality gas. Do you feel this is a good idea in this engine or a waste of money? I suppose ethanol free is not that important since this Engine was designed with ethanol in mind.

Doesn’t matter about ethanol, but 91 is too low. Stick with 93 at least for the track key. Enjoy!

+1 on the 93 octane. Only thing I use for either key.

Hopey, that must have been a blast....a real workout, but a blast non the less!
(beautiful scenery too if you had the time to look at it, lol)

Marty,

It’s fantastic. There is a group of us that heads up there mid-June each year. It’s nice to escape the start of the Florida summer at least for a few days.

Last time I stopped overnight in Atlanta, stayed next to the airport and did the Porsche drivers experience in the morning (911 Carrera 4 on a track, heavy fat boring car) before heading into the Mountains. Lots of great roads around Fontana (where we usually stay, would be a great place for a BOSS meetup), Deals Gap, Dragon and my personal favorite the Cherohala Skyway that runs from Robbinsville NC to Tellico Plains TN.  Plus you have all the photographers on the Dragon, so you can go online next day and see some great photos of you driving the Dragon.
